Growth Scan

I saw the babies via ultrasound today.

Baby A is measuring 3 lbs 4 oz, and Baby B is measuring 3 lbs 2 oz. Scan estimates can always be off +/- 1 lb, so that doesn' t mean much. But the important thing is that they are both measuring similarly & that they are not measuring behind. They also both have big noggins (measuring around 33 weeks I think), just like Corbin does.

The pics were terrible, so I am not posting them.

Baby A is vertex, but he has moved positions (probably because he's getting squashed in there). Baby B is breech. They kind of are positioned in a Ying/Yang pose, if that makes any sense.

Since I was disappointed in the last several pics that we have gotten, we decided to go ahead and book a 4D ultrasound for Saturday, September 5th. Hopefully, we will get a clearer look at their little faces.

Third Trimester

Photobucket

I made it to my third trimester! I am 28 weeks as of today! Yay!!

It's really hard to get around. Right now, it's hard to sit because one of the babies wants to hang out in my ribs (Baby B).

I had a cervical scan last Weds. and mine was 4 cm, which is great! My doc feels he doesn't need to see me for 4 more weeks, but I have a growth scan next Weds., and I will call if something seems amiss, of course.

That means I have 10 weeks or less until the babies are here. Eek! We are almost done with the nursery. Just a few more boxes need to be put away & it needs to be tidied up. We also took our hospital tour on Saturday, and it made me feel like it's getting so close to the time when we will hold our babies!

Almost to 27 weeks!

28 weeks is my next goal, when the survival rates go up to 95% & I am almost there! I still would love to make it to 36 weeks, which starts the two week period when it is optimal for twins to be born. And that is only 9 weeks away! In 9 weeks or less, I will be the mommy to 3 little boys!

As far as getting ready, the nursery is almost completely set up. We just need to put blankets and burp cloths, etc. in the closet. I'd have it done already if I was allowed to lift & carry things. So, I might hint (read: nag) to Jon this weekend that we need to get on that! I will try and take a picture soon. One more little detail needs to be done, though. I want to buy their initials for over their cribs. We went really simple with their room this time, but it still turned out pretty cute.

I've been cooking a lot & making doubles of everything. It is how I am nesting. One always goes in the freezer. I am going to try & continue this through next week. Then we will have enough meals in the freezer to help get us through the first month or two. Actually, I will only have about 15 meals in there, but I know 2 of my moms' groups provide meals for new babies, so I am hoping I am the happy recipient of those, too. Either way, it will make things easier for a while.
